You've built an asset. Don't leave its value to chance.

Whether you've owned your business for 20 years or bought it six months ago, the decisions you make today can have a significant impact on what that business is worth — and how attractive it is when you eventually want to sell.

The biggest mistake is waiting until you're ready to sell to start thinking about it.

By then, some of your best opportunities to create value may already be behind you.

This Playbook shows you what buyers actually look for, what drives value, what can undermine a sale and, most importantly, what you can start doing now to build a stronger, more valuable and more attractive business.

You don't need to put your business into "sale preparation" mode.

You build it while you run it.

Inside you'll learn how to:

  • Build a more valuable business
  • Make it genuinely attractive to buyers
  • Increase your future options and negotiating position
  • Reduce the risks that can undermine a sale
  • Make the eventual transaction smoother and less stressful
  • Think like a buyer before you become a seller

The potential upside is significant.

A stronger business can mean a higher valuation, more interested buyers, greater negotiating leverage and a much better chance of achieving the exit you actually want.

And you don't need to know exactly when you'll sell to start.

The sooner you understand what buyers value, the more time you have to build it.

Nearly 100 pages of practical guidance from Jaimee Hart, Chartered Accountant and CFO with 15 years of experience working on acquisitions, exits and business growth.

If you're going to own a valuable business, learn how to make it as valuable, attractive and as easy to sell as it can be.

About Jaimee

I'm a Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) with 20 years' experience in business, including 11 years as a CFO in high-growth companies.

Before that, I worked at KPMG and Grant Thornton. As a CFO, I led acquisition and fast growth strategies and worked on business acquisitions, exits, strategic growth and private equity transactions.

I've been involved in transactions from both sides of the table — and I've seen exactly where buyers and sellers get it right, and where they get it badly wrong.

I've seen what creates value, what destroys it, and what makes a business more valuable when it's time to sell.

I created this business to share what I've learned about buying the right business, building its value, and making it attractive and easy to sell when the time comes.
